Day 1: Arrival in Avignon...Popes' Palace

You'll arrive on your own in Avignon to check-in at the Four-Star hotel de l'Horloge for two nights - with breakfasts included.

Avignon: a guided tour of the city and the Popes Palace

From its colorful past as the Capital of the Christian world, Avignon has preserved its overwhelming architectural heritage, much of it protected by UNESCO World Heritage status.
The Popes' Palace is the largest Gothic palace in the world! Built in under 70 years by a lineage of Popes, today there are still 25 rooms open to visit. At one point it served as military barracks but is now exclusively in use as a theatrical stage and a cultural setting for prestigious exhibitions.

Drop off is approximately at 5:30 at your hotel. Dinner is at your leisure.

Day 2: Exclusive private day in Provence... Luberon, Gordes, Roussillon, with Tour and wine tastings at a local domain

Pick-up is at 9:30 AM at your hotel.

Luberon: some great sightseeing

The massive mountain of Luberon offers classic Provence landscapes: brushland, olive trees, lavender fileds, vineyards and perched villages. Luberon has been an endless source of inspiration for painters, writers, and more recently film directors.

Gordes: more great sightseeing

The next step is Gordes, classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France and famous for its architecture utilizing dry stones and "bories".  As the citadel rises it offers increasingly panoramic views of landmarks from its past; a majestic fortified castle, a massive church surrounded by unusually tall buildings (for the era) which overlook the narrow streets below and provide perfect shelter from the assault of the Mistral winds. A truly timeless place.

Lunch is at your leisure upon your guide's recommendations.

Tour and wine tasting at a local domain

Though the Luberon is located in Northern Provence, it is at the very south of the Rhone Valley. Here the hot summers and small amounts of rain give full body to the red and rosé wines, and to the crispy whites as well.

Roussillon: the ochre trail

A chance to discover Roussillon, the famous perched village located on a rocky promontory dominating the world's biggest deposit of ochre in the quarries below. Nicknamed the “Provencal Colorado”, there is a surprising amount of rich warm color in these unusual cliffs and the homes hewn from them. Enjoy an open-air provençal market on Thursdays...It's a must-do in Provence!

Drop off is approximately at 5:30 PM at your hotel.

Day 3: Exclusive private day in Provence...Pont du Gard, Les Alpilles, and the Carrieres de Lumieres

Check-out after breakfast with pick-up is at 9:30 AM here.

Pont du Gard

Built in the 1st century AD, the Pont du Gard is one of the most impressive preserved Roman relics in France.  This three-level multi-arched bridge was Part of an ancient aqueduct responsible for bringing all fresh water from Uzès to Nîmes, the most important city of southern France during the Roman era.

Lunch is at your leisure upon your guide's recommendations.

Les Alpilles: sightseeing the Natural Park

Les Alpilles National Park with its rocky peaks, olive groves and vineyards is punctuated by the quaint and lovely villages of Saint Rémy de Provence and les Baux de Provence. This is Van Gogh’s Provence, with wild iris, sunflowers, lavender fields, olive oil and local honey. You'll be amazed by the picture-perfect landscapes.

Visit of the Carrieres de Lumieres

In the heart of Alpilles is the monumental "Carrières de Lumières", an old stone quarry that hosts an extraordinary and wholly unique multimedia show. Culturespaces has created innovative, ambitious project: utilizing 70 coordinated video projectors and 3D audio adapted to the site, the large stone surfaces are used to project the famous painter's artwork and give breadth to his artistic journey.  A breathtaking lifelong memory will be made here.

Drop off is approximately at 5:30 PM with check-in at your new hotel, the Four-Star hotel Aquabella for 2 nights - with breakfasts included). Dinner is at your leisure.

Day 4: Exclusive private day in Provence...Cassis, the Calanques, and Bandol

Pick-up is at 9:30 AM at your hotel.

Cassis: discover the Calanques!

The world renown Calanques are totally breathtaking. For millions of years, rain and wind have split these calcium cliffs to create what some have called "the Norwegian fjords on the Mediterranean". You'll enjoy this picturesque experience on a pleasant commented cruise or, in case of inclement weather, on a cute, old-fashioned train.

Cassis: more great sights to see

Since time immemorial, this classic Provençal harbour has been a welcome shelter to boats due to its high, calciferous cliffs. During the Roman period it was not only known for its coral trade, but also for links with the Middle East and Northern Africa.

Lunch is at your leisure upon your guide's recommendations.

Bandol: sightseeing of the vineyards and wine tasting at a local domain

The wine region of Bandol overlooks the sea. Sightseeing is the best way to take in mourvèdrecinsault and grenache, as well as the carignan and syrah grapes stretching out as far as the eye can see. The Bandol AOC covers 8 villages representing around 1500 hectares (over 37,000 acres!) of silicon & limestone soils.

Thanks to warm weather and winds, the intensity of red colours and the density of tannins are both keywords which characterize the red Bandol wines as well as the spicy flavor and notes of red fruit which define the Bandol rosés, whereas the Clairetteugni blanc and bourboulenc grapes turn into delightful white wines.

Drop-off is approximately at 5:30 at your hotel. Dinner is at your leisure.

Day 5: Arrival on the French Riviera...Nice!

Check-out is after breakfast, then enjoy pr
ivate transport from Aix en Provence to Nice.

Check-in at your Four-Star hotel Aston La Scala for 2 nights - with breakfasts included.

Nice: a guided tour

Nice's Promenade des Anglais and Carnival are well known. But it's only after you've gotten here and soaked up some of the city's atmosphere and unique light that the tag line 'Capital of the Côte d'Azur' begins to make sense as a tangible reality.

Day 6: Exclusive private day on the French Riviera...Grasse, Saint-Paul de Vence and Eze

Pick-up is at 9:30 AM at your hotel.

Grasse: great sightseeing

Lose yourself in delight on the narrow fairytale streets and frequent level changes to admire the square Saracen tower of the 16th century, the Town Hall situated in the former Episcopal palace, and raised medieval houses from the 17th and 18th centuries.  Then there are the magnificent mansions and beautiful villas of the 18th century and the Belle Epoque casino. You'll come across many gurgling fountains and picturesque squares with welcoming terraces and freshly painted facades of ocher, red and yellow. Simply stunning!

Saint-Paul de Vence: more great sightseeing!

Saint-Paul de Vence is a classic medieval cobblestone village in Provence. Enjoy its charming narrow streets, squares, fountains, the many art galleries, and the tomb of Marc Chagall, the Franco-Russian painter who lived here during the latter part of his life. Take in the view at the top of the village, appreciating some free time before a picturesque ride back to Nice.

Eze: no end to the fantastic sightseeing

Called "the eagle's nest" for its unique and breathtaking panoramas overlooking the Mediterranean coastline, Eze is a hilltop village most well known for its architecture and the Fragonard perfume factory.  It features the traditional homes of Provence, picturesque narrow streets and small squares where you'll discover shops creating works of traditional tapestry and exquisite porcelain.
