The Popes' Palace is the largest Gothic palace in the world! Built in under 70 years by a lineage of Popes, today there are still 25 rooms open to visit. At one point it served as military barracks but is now exclusively in use as a theatrical stage and a cultural setting for prestigious exhibitions.

The massive mountain of Luberon offers classic Provence landscapes: brushland, olive trees, lavender fileds, vineyards and perched villages. Luberon has been an endless source of inspiration for painters, writers, and more recently film directors.
The next step is Gordes, classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France and famous for its architecture utilizing dry stones and "bories". As the citadel rises it offers increasingly panoramic views of landmarks from its past; a majestic fortified castle, a massive church surrounded by unusually tall buildings (for the era) which overlook the narrow streets below and provide perfect shelter from the assault of the Mistral winds. A truly timeless place.
Lunch is at your leisure upon your guide's recommendations.
Though the Luberon is located in Northern Provence, it is at the very south of the Rhone Valley. Here the hot summers and small amounts of rain give full body to the red and rosé wines, and to the crispy whites as well.
A chance to discover Roussillon, the famous perched village located on a rocky promontory dominating the world's biggest deposit of ochre in the quarries below. Nicknamed the “Provencal Colorado”, there is a surprising amount of rich warm color in these unusual cliffs and the homes hewn from them. Enjoy an open-air provençal market on Thursdays...It's a must-do in Provence!

Built in the 1st century AD, the Pont du Gard is one of the most impressive preserved Roman relics in France. This three-level multi-arched bridge was Part of an ancient aqueduct responsible for bringing all fresh water from Uzès to Nîmes, the most important city of southern France during the Roman era.

Les Alpilles National Park with its rocky peaks, olive groves and vineyards is punctuated by the quaint and lovely villages of Saint Rémy de Provence and les Baux de Provence. This is Van Gogh’s Provence, with wild iris, sunflowers, lavender fields, olive oil and local honey. You'll be amazed by the picture-perfect landscapes.
In the heart of Alpilles is the monumental "Carrières de Lumières", an old stone quarry that hosts an extraordinary and wholly unique multimedia show. Culturespaces has created innovative, ambitious project: utilizing 70 coordinated video projectors and 3D audio adapted to the site, the large stone surfaces are used to project the famous painter's artwork and give breadth to his artistic journey. A breathtaking lifelong memory will be made here.

The world renown Calanques are totally breathtaking. For millions of years, rain and wind have split these calcium cliffs to create what some have called "the Norwegian fjords on the Mediterranean". You'll enjoy this picturesque experience on a pleasant commented cruise or, in case of inclement weather, on a cute, old-fashioned train.
Since time immemorial, this classic Provençal harbour has been a welcome shelter to boats due to its high, calciferous cliffs. During the Roman period it was not only known for its coral trade, but also for links with the Middle East and Northern Africa.

The wine region of Bandol overlooks the sea. Sightseeing is the best way to take in mourvèdre, cinsault and grenache, as well as the carignan and syrah grapes stretching out as far as the eye can see. The Bandol AOC covers 8 villages representing around 1500 hectares (over 37,000 acres!) of silicon & limestone soils.
Thanks to warm weather and winds, the intensity of red colours and the density of tannins are both keywords which characterize the red Bandol wines as well as the spicy flavor and notes of red fruit which define the Bandol rosés, whereas the Clairette, ugni blanc and bourboulenc grapes turn into delightful white wines.
