Day 2: CHATEAU DE CHENONCEAU AND CHATEAU D’AMBOISE

Today is an exciting day! Start the day with a moderately flat and easy ride, passing Parc Mini Châteaux (great for kids) before coming to the beautiful Chenonceau castle lands. Today you will however continue to Civray, just a mile from the castle to change from the bike to a canoe. You will pass under the Chenonceau castle during a pleasant canoe ride that takes about 2 hours. Once the canoe ride is done, you can visit the Chenonceau castle before heading back to Amboise for an optional chocolate tasting in front of the Château Amboise.

Day 3: BIKE TOUR OF THE VOUVRAY VINEYARDS

The ride of the day visits the other side of the Loire river. Gentle, verdant landscapes dominate the scenery before getting to the Moncontour wine museum with wine tasting in their wine cellar. The area is known for its Vouvray wines that constitute the largest white wine appellation in the Anjou-Saumur-Touraine region. Discover the various variations of wines produced here from dry and austere white wines, all the way to excellent 'dessert' and sparkling wines. The latter part of the itinerary crosses the Montlouis white wine appellation region before returning to Amboise.

Day 4: CHATEAU DE CHAUMONT

The final day of riding has arrived, and it starts by taking a route following the Loire River, to arrive at the feudal Château Chaumont. The castle hosts a well-known garden festival every year since 1992. The festival starts in June and has an impressive variety of contemporary garden and landscape designs. The return to Amboise goes via calm and peaceful country paths.

Day 5: DEPARTURE DAY

The trip is now over, and it is time to leave the Loire Valley, but if you feel like the stay has been a little too short, extra nights can be arranged.
