Les Alpilles : Sightseeing of the Regional Natural Park

Les Alpilles National Park, rocky mountains with olive tree groves and vineyard, is punctuated by quaint lovely villages such as Saint Rémy de Provence and les Baux de Provence. This is Van Gogh’s Provence, with wild Iris, sunflower and lavender fields, olive oil and local honey. You will be amazed by the postcard landscape.  

Arles : guided tour of the city

Arles is one of the most charming and typical city of Provence. Laid along the Rhône, the town will seduce you with its uncommon amount of prestigious buildings. The massive arenas, still used nowadays, are dominating the historic heart of Arles. You will be seduced by the magnificent romanesque St-Trophime church and its sculpted portal, but also by the Alyscamps, former necropolis dating back from the Middle Ages. All these wonders, such as the colourful houses, have inspired major painters, among them Vincent Van Gogh who gave us a very nice version of Le café, le soir, that you can still see in the Place du Forum. Arles is an unforgettable stopover on your Provence route.

Saint-Remy de Provence : sightseeing

In this village in the heart of Provence, you’ll find all the charm of a typically Provencal way of life. You’ll soon be strolling along the boulevards under the shade of century-old plane trees. Wander around the narrow little streets, discovering squares where fountains play, and the attractive boutiques and art galleries that make the town’s historic centre so lively.

Les Baux-de-Provence : sightseeing

Les Baux-de-Provence belongs to the labeled group of the "Most Beautiful Villages of France". This impregnable village is located in the heart of the Alpilles. The fortifications give an interesting example of defensive architecture from the XIth to the XIIIth century. The main relic of this mighty stronghold is the castle crowned by a massive keep. Les Baux-de-Provence is a must-see of your Provencal experience.

This is the end of this extraordinary and genuine discovery of Alpilles area. Your guide will drive you back to Aix-en-Provence train station or to your hotel in Aix-en-Provence area.
